I know that earlier this week I promised a couple of unboxing posts, but travel preparations have taken a front seat. I did not, however, want to let AVD’s one-year anniversary go by without mention. And, to celebrate, I have a giveaway!!

My favourite thing on your blog is when you’ve purchased an ENTIRE range (ie the whole Julie G jelly bean nail polishes, or the whole Charolotte Tilbury lipstick wardrobe) and then swatch everything through a series. AND, love the way you post the promotional photo / swatches and then alongside you post how it looks on YOU. Also loved the historic research and info you provided on the Chanel lipsticks. You also have fantastic photography!

I’ve been purchasing less since we started building the house (boo!), but I did enjoy the posts where I featured a range (and I’ve enjoyed playing with the range afterward), so maybe I’ll try to do that. I’ve been loving learning more about Mademoiselle Chanel, and have purchased several more Rouge Cocos… so I could definitely do another post along that line.

I have a fun wildflower manicure planned for the next go around, so it’s good to know that people are enjoying them. I used to be terrible at manicures, but I think that’s what pushed me to get better. It was better than a year before I didn’t massacre my left hand (I’m right handed). Nail stamping and other techniques just take a few times to get the hang of. They’re really not too hard.
We did have fun in Paris! Unfortunately… I didn’t get any pharmacy hauls in :o( What a bummer, huh? We were having too much fun, I guess.

I am a big tomboy, and a nurse, and nails get neglected, but your post get me excited about taking care of myself, and even taking extra time to do some art on my nails. I found your site by googling comparisons of several subscription boxes, and I have been a fan every since. Thanks for taking the time to spend with us, and thank you personally for showing me, even with a busy nurse schedule, I can find the time to take care of myself. I’m so glad to hear that my blog helps to inspire self care :o) We nurses rush about during our long shifts, and it’s easy to forget to take care of even the most basic needs (my poor kidneys… ‘nuf said). I’m a pretty serious (though kind) nurse, and I think my “crazy” nails help my patients to see me in a more fun light. I hope that you’re also able to break the ice occasionally with fun nails.

Sorry for the slow reply. The weather was fantastic in Paris. We had a rainstorm just one of the evenings. Luckily we were nearly home, so we just tucked into a bistrot for a drink. It was kind of fun to see people scurrying about, trying to find ways of not getting wet. :o)
